History : Ilha do Ferro is a small community located in the interior of the northeastern region of Brazil, known for its dry and inclement climate, and was once known as the "city off the map", as it was not even registered on maps and location applications. But everything changed when the crafts made by its residents caught the attention of designers and art collectors. The community of artisans on Ilha do Ferro is made up of men and women, fishermen and bricklayers, rural workers and housewives who, faced with the difficulties of everyday life, found a worthy way of survival with their art. One of these artists is Zé Crente, who produces sculptures of lizards, birds, images of saints and decorative wall masks with strong and vibrant colors, made by reusing trunks, branches and roots of dead trees.

Note : Because they are produced by hand, each piece is unique, with no two being exactly the same. There may be small variations in dimensions (more or less), colors and tones between the pieces and between what is perceived on cell phone or computer screens and the real pieces.
